Anyone with experience selling Textbooks on Amazon?
I don’t have any idea on how to sell my Textbook without going to the bookstore. So I’m looking at amazon, but I’m not sure about the total cost for selling one. The site says there are some fees but I’m just not really understanding it. For anyone with experience, what was the total price you sold for and what was the amount you received? And how would I do the shipping?
I’ve been selling on Amazon for years, and haven’t yet figured out the precise formula they use. I can tell you though, that if you sell for a high price, as most textbooks do, you’ll do much better than trying to sell them back to your college bookstore. The only fee they charge is some kind of small percentage of your selling price plus shipping, and they actually give you money to cover shipping, so it kinda averages out. Just do the basic shipping. Then package it and take it to the post office and tell them to ship it Media Mail. There’s a minimum payment that they get, though. It’s all pretty easy. Don’t make it more complicated than it is.
However, I’ve found that if you sell your books for less than a couple dollars, it’s really not cost effective. So, be sure your books have a big value, and if they do, it’s a great deal.
Oh, and there’s no fee for listing things, so if they don’t sell, you don’t lose anything. I highly recommend it.
